Career Snapshot:

• Define business data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Create, document, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Reverse engineer source system data structures for model sourcing
• Assist with the development and enforcement of data modeling standards
• Mentor staff on understanding enterprise data structures and reference data
• Facilitate creation/migration of data objects (DDL) across Development /QA/Production
• Own Model management and version control of data models
• Provide hands-on data modeling / development support for a variety of assignments and have a quick grasp of new business environments
• Conduct Model reviews with project team members
• Work with IT application staff to define source-to-target mappings
• Play an active role on data analysis and QA activities
• Provide project estimation support
• Assist with production support and maintenance

Requirements:

• Must have an in-depth understanding of OLTP and Data Warehouse modeling concepts
• In-depth understanding of the Data Life Cycle data modeling concept and principles
• Experience storing metadata/data dictionaries within formal modeling tool
• 5 years working as data modeler
• 5 years working using data modeling tools such as CA ERwin or ER Studio, or Rational Data Architect supporting IT development projects
• 5 years of SQL experience
• In-depth experience on at least one major RDBMS platform (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server)
• Able to work independently or as part of a team to develop the required solution
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills will be required for customer and team interaction
• Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with IT development teams in an agile environment

Data Modeling Skills:

• OLTP and Data Warehouse Modeling
• Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models
• Entity Level, Primary Key Level, Fully Attributed 3rd Normal Level
• Warehouse: Normalized, Atomic Historical Grain, Generalized; Staging, ODS and Warehouse
• Star Schema Data Mart: Conformed Dimensions and Fact Tables

Preferences:

• CA ERwin experience
• Experience in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Familiarity with integration tools such as Informatica
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Hyperion Reporting, Essbase and OBIEE
