Job Summary:
An amazing opportunity to join Magical Cruise Company Limited, based in the Head Office in Hammersmith, London.
This is a specialist technical operations role contributing to delivering unforgettable guest experiences and is part of the Management Team Responsible for Technical and Maintenance aspects of the Company’s Fleet.
The key responsibility of the Manager, Electrical Technical Planning is deliver agreed in service improvement projects based upon Departments strategy and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned Electrical and Technical Projects for Dry Docks and in Operation, including safety, security and environmental performance related aspects, and Engineering, Automation and IT coordination
- Maintains Disney Cruise Line technical standards.
- Ongoing Communication and co-ordination with Shipboard Leadership.
- Overall responsibility for Project Management to include:
- Development of solutions in accordance with Dept. Strategy and Priorities
- Competitive Bidding
- Financial Management from Capital or Expense Request, Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting
- Technical and Engineering Oversight of delivery in accordance with Specification, Industry Practice and Regulatory requirements and handover to Ship or Island Operational Teams
- Direct Report management
- Contributes to the planning and execution of long term maintenance and refurbishment plans, including Dry Docking and Projects completed in operation.
- Oversees consistent regulatory compliance for technical operation across the fleet with focus on Electrical Engineering, control engineering.
- Departmental budgets for areas of responsibilities.
- Assists with standardizing shipboard operating procedures for areas of responsibility.
- Liaison with USCG, Lloyd’s Register, for areas of responsibility.
- Oversee compliance with technical aspects of applicable Flag State, Port State, international, and classification society requirements.
- Operational standards for Electrical Safety and Engineering and Technical Entertainment Departments.
- Verify that corrective and preventive action is taken on issues within area of responsibility.
- Updating of Asset Management, Maintenance Systems, Service Agreements and Training associated with delivered changes
- Contributes to the planning and execution of long term maintenance plans (including dry docking and wet docking) for areas of responsibility.
- Oversees the technical drawings and equipment manuals in the UK Office and maintains current technical library of third party documents for areas of responsibilities.
- Monitors safety and pollution prevention initiatives of the technical operation of each ship.
- Follow and implement Company Safety Management System (SMS)
- Designate for Line Manager
- Use and follow procedures for Company Maintenance Systems, including AMOS
- Support day to day operations, where required
- Support Internal Safety and Environmental Meeting and Emergency Operations, as Directed
Basic Qualifications:
- Extensive sea-going and/or ship management marine engineering experience
- Relevant tertiary electrical engineering or related degree; or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Business Knowledge –
- Cruise Sector experience would be beneficial
- Professional qualifications in relevant marine technology
- Professional training in marine Regulations
- Management of multiples projects and vendors during dockings and in operation projects
Relationship Building - Candidates, Customers, Vendors – Established marine network.
Global Collaboration – Flexibility to work with ships in different locations and between US and UK Offices
Additional Information:
The existing right to work in the UK is essential for this position - based full time and permanently in London, England, with some travel when needed.
