ENTERTAINMENT TECHNICIAN
We are recruiting experienced Entertainment Technicians to join our team at sea onboard Marella Cruises’ fleet of ships.
about the role
Led by and reporting to the Entertainment Technical Manager, the Entertainment Technician will support the entertainment department in operating and maintaining all stage, sound, light and video equipment on board the ship to the highest standards.
This is a ship-wide technical role and you will be operating sound, lighting and video systems nightly for our varied ship-wide entertainment programme including live music, gameshows, quizes and deck parties.
You will work with the latest technology & equipment to support the delivery of the programme. You will also be responsible, together with the stage team, for the set-up and strike of the theatre sets, including backline equipment, stage lighting and audio equipment.
skills and experience
For this role, you must have proven experience of operating a variety of audio visual and lighting equipment on a cruise ship, hotel or live theatre enviroment. Knowledge and previous use of audio consoles such as Soundcraft and Yamaha as well as lighting consoles by GrandMA 2 and Avolites is highly desirable. Experience in using QLab show control software to cue audio and video files is disrable.
Previous sea-going experience is preferable.
contract information
The contract period for this role is up to 9 months with competitive pay, all meals and single occupancy cabin.
All applicants must be fully vaccinated, hold valid STCW certification (or be willing to obtain these) as well as an ENG1 or equivalent seafarer medical certificate.
