Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the security program for all vessels and for specific ports and terminals as directed. This position will provide expertise regarding shipboard security operation, fleet security regulatory and ISPS related requirements and port terminal security matters, including administration of the security sections of the Safety Management System.

Career Snapshot:

• Actively manage the security program onboard Company ships and in the associated terminal facilities.  This includes the development and maintenance of ship security plans that conform with all regulatory and/or Flag State requirements.
• Assist in identifying port security issues for improvement and solutions.
• Represent the Company with security organizations, vendors, consultants, and government authorities (e.g. FBI, CBP, Homeland Security, DEA, USCG).
• Coordinate maritime intelligence matters regarding terrorism, piracy and law enforcement with Company Security Intelligence.  
• Provide assistance to corporate security staff in formulating policy as related to shipboard and port terminal security, including development of a port security audit program while also participating in the development of long-range planning objectives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for technical Superintendents for any issue related to security equipment. Direct CCTV operation, maintenance and enhancements.
• Support the ships Masters regarding onboard security matters including equipment, plans, and training. Serve as liaison between the port and the ships regarding port security issues.
• Develop and implement Global Security recruiting program for all onboard security positions. Work with Human Resources to provide thorough reviews and recommendations regarding the hiring and assigning of shipboard security staff. Directs Ship Security training and certification throughout all Company ships.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Security, International Business, Criminology, or related discipline. 
• Experience in Maritime industries with cruise vessel operations preferred.
• 5 years of Maritime security management related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Up to 30 % travel necessary
