Description
The Third Electro-Technical Officer is responsible to the department head for safe and efficient repair, maintenance, testing and operation of all electrical deck and hotel equipment, including all LSA and mooring equipment, cranes, galley and laundry equipment, watertight-, fire- and sliding doors, emergency and public lighting systems.
In carrying out their duties, the Third Electro-Technical Officer works in close co-operation with the First Electro-Technical Officer and other team members to ensure the highest standards of safety, security, public health, environmental compliance, and guest services are maintained. Promotes that all Gold Standards and Brand Culture are embraced by the team at all times.

Essential Duties
- The Third Electro-Technical Officer ensures that all electrical work on hotel and deck equipment and work in public spaces and areas for guests, Ladies & Gentlemen are carried out in accordance with IMO, flag-state, OHSE, and other regulatory constraints.
- Holds daily meetings with the First Electro-Technical Officer and the hotel department regarding work schedules, repairs and planned maintenance. Ensures all complaints received from guests and Ladies and Gentlemen are swiftly resolved, and appropriate follow up is coordinated with the hotel department.
- Is responsible to the First Electro-Technical Officer for safe function and availability of all systems under their responsibility.
- Monitors as safety supervisor all work of electrical ratings in guest and public areas as assigned in the work permit and reports any changes to his/her superior that require a change or cancelation of the permit.
- Inspects on regular basis all hotel, deck, public and guest areas to ensure appropriate equipment availability and safe lighting coverage all across the Yacht.
- Supports or substitutes the Second Electro-Technical Officer during elevator maintenance and inspections, as advised by the First Electro-Technical Officer.
- Supports team members and other departments during repairs and maintenance as required or advised by the First Electro-Technical Officer.
- Arranges requisitions of supplies, spare parts and consumables for their area of duties to ensure critical spares are always at hand, while maintaining close control of operational budgets.
- Ensures maintenance and repair information under his/her responsibility is updated in the Planned Maintenance System and oversees scheduling, supervision and completion of all maintenance and repairs.

- Acts as role model and holds others accountable for promoting the Gold Standards, respect and fair treatment. Sets the department’s expectations for desired behavior, knowledge and skill levels.
- Ensures the daily execution of line-up in accordance with company standards and brand guidelines.
- Demonstrates alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives while ensuring alignment throughout the yacht organization.
Qualifications
- Valid STCW III/6 certification as Electro-Technical Officer
- All required STCW certificates of proficiency according to position
- At least three years previous experience on a cruise vessel in equivalent rank
- Technical degree in electrical or electronic engineering
- Excellent command of the English language
- Exceptional knowledge of modern luxury shipboard equipment, systems, and operations
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
