Description
Assisting the Sr. Carpenter in the maintenance and repair of fixtures or surfaces in a cost-efficient manner that is in compliance with Company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly performs quality repairs on carpentry-based items as directed by the reporting officer.
- Always actions assigned defect chits in a timely manner and to the highest standard possible.
- Effectively and efficiently manufactures or constructs carpentry projects using both rough and finishing carpentry techniques as directed by the reporting officer.
- Always maintains the Carpenter's Workshop in a clean, tidy and well organized manner.
- Works closely with the Carpenter to ensure required back-up materials are ordered in a timely fashion.
- Always executes all work in the most cost-efficient way and assists to achieve all financial goals set by the Company.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Successful candidate will have accured at least 12 months experience working as a carpenter or similar industry role.
- Carpenter background with preferable ship experience, shipyard or workshop ashore.
- Carpenter equipment knowledge (circular saw, drill, etc.)
- Able to varnish and paint
