1st Officer

We are pleased to announce we are looking to hire a 1st Officer for the Deck Department, working for the BSMCruise managed vessels.

Your responsibility will include, but will not be limited to:

Watchkeeping
In charge of navigation, anchor, and port watch 04-08, 16-20.
Preparation of the bridge for arrivals / departures as per checklists.
Assisted by 3rd Officer (supporting his/her training).
Assisting Captain & Staff Captain in manoeuvres as required (Mooring Stations or Communications)
At Anchor: Coordinating Tender operations.
Overtime
Planning the technical schedule in advance
Planning and monitoring routes.
Up to date all the Nodes (ECDIS primary).
Up to date all publications.
Assisting Staff Captain as required.
Assisting in manoeuvres if required.
Safety Duties
Relieve OOW
1st in command in lifeboat no.2 (Abandon Ship)
Assisting on Pax Drills when free of watch as required.

Key Attributes:
• Previous shipboard experience or relevant experience in similar position
• Fluent in English – must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility – must be able to work various times of the day, remain calm under pressure and have a can-do attitude
