Love to cook and share your knowledge and passion for food? Silversea is looking for a special person for the position of S.A.L.T Host for its exciting and celebrated immersive culinary program, S.A.L.T (Sea & Land Taste). The program, which includes an onboard restaurant and bar, cooking classes and shore experiences, is all about connecting our guests to the culinary culture of the places we visit. 

 

As S.A.L.T Host you will help create onboard programming and run cooking classes for guests in our modern test kitchen, the S.A.L.T Lab, as well as serve as prime onboard manager, daily host and guest-facing contact for the program. 

 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • endlessly curious about the food of the world;
  • knowledgeable and passionate about sharing that knowledge;
  • outgoing and eager to interact with guests and explore and demystify culinary traditions and cooking techniques;
  • cooking skills are a must, as well as a demonstrated ability to present and explain dishes in an engaging and informative manner.

 

Responsibilities include coordinating and hosting cooking classes, cooking demonstrations, lectures on local cuisine and culture and other events in the S.A.L.T Lab; working across departments with the Hotel Director and Cruise Director to facilitate the needs of guest chefs, authors, and other visiting culinary experts. The S.A.L.T. Host will also work with chefs and service staff to help implement and run tastings, special meals and other events at S.A.L.T Kitchen and Bar.
