Sommelier

we are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable sommelier to enhance our guests’ dining experiences by providing expert wine service and recommendations.

French Language speaking is mandatory

Key responsibilities:

• Curate and maintain the ship’s wine list and inventory
• Provide wine recommendations to guests, pairing selections with menu items
• Serve wine and other beverages professionally and courteously
• Conduct wine tastings and education sessions for guests
• Train and mentor dining staff on wine knowledge and service
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all wine stock

Qualifications:

• Certified sommelier or equivalent certification
• Previous experience as a sommelier, preferably in a fine dining or cruise ship environment
• Extensive knowledge of wines, regions, and pairings
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in English required, French language skills are an advantage

Required certification:

• STCW Basic Safety Training (BST)
o Personal survival techniques (PST)
o Fire prevention and firefighting (PPFF)
o Elementary first aid (EFA)
o Personal safety and social responsibilities (PSSR)
• Security Awareness Training
• Crowd Management Training
• Medical Certificate (valid and compliant with STCW and flag state standards)
• Seaman’s book
• Passport (min. validity 6 months)
• Visa (if required by embarkation port or vessel itinerary)
• Yellow fever vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Measles vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Covid vaccination (WHO approved fully vaccinated / booster recommended)
