We are looking for an experienced 1st engineer onboard our cruise vessel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's engineering systems. You will lead a team of skilled engineers and technicians, maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and performance.


Key responsibilities:


• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of the ship's propulsion systems, auxiliary engines, electrical equipment, and other engineering systems.
• Lead and supervise the engineering team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of all engineering systems, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental policies, and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
• Manage the engineering department's budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications:


• Valid 2nd Engineer III/2 (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency (COC)
• Extensive experience in marine engineering, preferably onboard cruise ships or similar vessels.
• Strong leadership and management skills
• In-depth knowledge of marine engineering systems, including propulsion, electrical, HVAC, and auxiliary systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
• Fluent in English;


Required certification:


STCW Basic Safety Training (BST)
o Personal survival techniques (PST)
o Fire prevention and firefighting (PPFF)
o Elementary first aid (EFA)
o Personal safety and social responsibilities (PSSR)
• Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats
• Advances Firefighting
• Medical First Aid
• Designated Security Duties
• Crowd Management Training
• Crisis Management and Human Behaviour
• Medical Certificate (valid and compliant with STCW and flag state standards)
• Seaman’s book
• Passport (min. validity 6 months)
• Visa (if required by embarkation port or vessel itinerary)
