The primary responsibility of the Environmental Engineer is to maintain and guide all work related to environmental issues onboard the vessel.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Ensure safe operation and compliance of sewage, waste disposal systems, and potable water facilities with international and local regulations.
• Oversee garbage room operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with USPH standards.
• Plan and execute shore-side waste disposal and mechanical maintenance of sewage and waste systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all environmental operations, including waste discharge, incinerator, and sewage treatment.
• Lead and train waste operators, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met, including proper handling of and maintaining records for, chemicals and PPE use.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth operation of environmental systems and compliance with safety management procedures.
• Monitor and maintain records for oily water discharge equipment and other environmental systems, ensuring regular updates in the Planned Maintenance System.
• Prepare for promotion to First Engineer Hotel by continuously building knowledge and supporting the Chief and Staff Chief Engineers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned under sthe instructions and guidance of the Staff Chief Engineer.

Hiring Requirements

All relevant STCW III/2 certificates required for the 2nd Engineer position.
