Description

The Activities and Aquatics Manager plays a crucial role in curating and supervising a wide range of onboard experiences aimed at providing guests with exceptional and personalized services on the yacht. Responsible for overseeing and guaranteeing the utmost safety and engagement of guests, this position focuses on managing programming and services for all onboard activities, Ritz Kids and The Marina. By ensuring the safe operation of water sports equipment and providing tailored instruction, the Activities and Aquatics Manager enriches The Marina experience and elevates guest satisfaction. Additionally, this role extends support to various other onboard activities to further enhance the overall guest experience.

Essential Duties

  1. Supporting the Entertainment and Events Director with the efficient execution of the Entertainment & Enrichment programming and leading Ladies and Gentlemen, with a focus on The Marina 
  2. Prepares, organizes and schedules activities throughout the day, entertainment, social events, and speaking engagements. 
  3. Manages the Activities and Aquatics team members to ensure all programming areas have the support they need 
  4. Arrival and departure duties in cooperation with the Guest Services Manager and Destination Experiences Manager 
  5. Visits and walks all areas of the yacht to proactively engage with guests in order to identify their expectations and needs fulfilling them promptly. Verify the smooth running of entertainment activities, acting on and following up on any issues found to ensure standards are not affected 
  6. Implements, monitors, evaluates, and manages the operations of The Marina program and area in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures and regulations. Works closely with the Marine Team regarding scheduling, operation and maintenance of The Marina 
  7. Has knowledge and ability to demonstrate the use of all water sports equipment. This includes Hobie Cats, paddle boards, and kayaks
  8. Maintains the safety of guests and employees at all times with the ability to anticipate the changing environment 
  9. Responsible to manage the guest check-in / check-out in the Property Management mobile gangway system and ensures that guests and employees utilizing The Marina are properly recorded and accounted for 
  10. Manage The Marina retail operation for all goods and services sold at The Marina 
  11. Monitors and evaluates guests’ comments and creates plans for improvements 
  12. Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor keeping the Entertainment Ambassador promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance 
  13. Supports the onboard Hotel Operations team by assisting where needed as business dictates
  14. Displays a thorough knowledge of the yacht’s daily activities to be able to advise and promote to guests 
  15. Prepares voyage reports on an itinerary-by-itinerary basis to be sent to the corporate office 


Qualifications

  1. Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to position 
  2. A bachelor’s degree, or diploma in Education, Fitness, Recreation, Tourism or a related field 
  3. Strong leadership and managerial skills 
  4. Organizational skills to manage and coordinate various onboard activities and Events 
  5. Problem-solving capabilities to address issues effectively 
  6. Flexibility and adaptability to meet guest needs and preferences 
  7. Valid Power Boat License 
  8. Valid CPR and First Aid Certification 
  9. Preferred experience working with children’s activities and programs 
  10. Preferred Instructor qualification for sailboats and kayaks 
  11. Capable of operating inventory systems in the capacity of a regular user 
  12. Strong communication, customer service, organization and multi-tasking skills. Comfortable public speaking 
  13. Good knowledge and experience in Public Health rules and regulations related to USPH and HACCP 
  14. Demonstrated proficiency in ensuring safety and adherence to regulations 


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
