2.0 Job Summary

3.0 Responsibility and Authority

  • Guest Experience
    1. Demonstrates genuine concern for guests’ wellbeing at all times;
    2. Ensures that all guest requests, inquiries and concerns are handled in a prompt manner;
    3. Ensures that the Entertainment Department creates a warm, sincere, welcoming but fun environment around the ship.
    4. Actively promotes and seeks guest’s interaction by informing guests of upcoming events and activities as part of his/her social duties
  • Operational and Administrative
    1. Assists the Cruise Director with the organizing and execution of entertainment activities, social events, deck sports, games, arts and crafts, board games, Bingo, Karaoke and General knowledge Quizzes;, movies, lecturers and religious services;
    2. Actively contributes to the range of onboard activities offered, utilizing own abilities to their full potential;
    3. Welcomes guests as they arrive for the various events taking place in public areas.
    4. Ensures that invitations are sent out for the Captains and Senior Officers tables, also co-hosting as required.
    5. Escorts tours of the ship as required.
    6. Maintains ships library, Video and DVD selection.
    7. Ensures that adequate levels of games, puzzles, and Arts and Craft supplies are available at all times.
    8. Manages all aspects of the onboard Token Reward Program.
    9. Assists the preparation of the daily program.
    10. Ensures that the Cruise Director is promptly and fully informed any areas of potential problems or unusual matters of significance so that prompt corrective action can be taken.
    11. Serves as a liaison with the Destination Manager or Concierge for organizing private arrangements in ports for guests requesting such services i.e. private cars etc.
    12. Participates in Gangway duties during embarkation/debarkation process, ensuring guests are greeted in line with RSSC’s guidelines.
    13. Performs cabaret as required (if applicable).
    14. To be familiar with the basic operation of technical equipment (sound and light) within Lounge areas;
    15. Monitors all shipboard activities and takes corrective actions as required to ensure guest satisfaction as well as company policies and procedures are adhered to.
    16. Helps to create appropriate Cocktail Party Listings or table hosting arrangements, especially during longer cruises.
    17. Pro-active approach to problem solving;
    18. General Office Administration.
  • Finance
    1. Maintains stocks of all necessary entertainment supplies, and re-orders as required.
    2. Ensures that adequate stocks are maintained at all times in regards to the Token Reward Gifts.
  • Training and Development
    1. Assist with training new team members on all procedures relating to the Entertainment department and also general shipboard knowledge.
    2. Creates and maintains a positive work environment;
    3. Fosters teamwork within all departments onboard;
    4. Completes, participates and promotes RSSC’s Service Training Programs.
    5. Assists the Cruise Director in implementing and maintaining guidelines, procedures and training practices set by the corporate office;
  • Social
    1. Maintains positive relationships with colleagues
    2. Respects the privacy and rights of colleagues
    3. Promotes cooperation and teamwork
    4. Attends Cocktail Parties and regularly hosts tables.
    5. At all times projects a favorable image of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, promoting its aims and objectives to enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of operation or endeavors.
  • Safety
    1. Monitor the practical application of the Company's policy, procedures and instructions.
    2. Immediately report to the Master any instances where the vessel is unable or fails to comply with any Company’s policy, procedure, instruction, and any safety, environmental, or security requirement.
    3. Participate in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions from ship’s command;
    4. Comply with company safety and pollution prevention regulations.

4.0 Education and Experience

  • Systems
    1. MS Office Suite
    2. Fidelio Cruise
  • Education and Experience
    1. Entertainment Background preferred;
    2. Shipboard Experience essential;
  • Profile
    1. Understanding of the highest level of service;
    2. Excellent administrative skills;
    3. Strong leadership skills and practice ‘leadership by example;
    4. Outgoing personality, open minded and flexible;
    5. Ability to work in an international environment;
    6. Ability to perform well under pressure;
    7. Excellent appearance and excellent social skills;
    8. Well organized.
