We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Engineer to join our engineering team aboard a luxury cruise ship. The Staff Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all engineering systems, machinery, and equipment on the vessel. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the ship’s technical systems while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems onboard.
- Monitor the performance of engines, generators, boilers, HVAC systems, and other ship equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Perform regular inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of all shipboard systems and machinery.
- Assist in planning and scheduling preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Support the Chief Engineer in maintaining the ship’s technical logs and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime laws and company safety standards, including ISM (International Safety Management) and MARPOL (Marine Pollution) regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of engineering crew members, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Coordinate with the bridge and other departments to ensure seamless communication and operation during the voyage.
- Respond to emergencies and take corrective actions to address technical problems.
- Manage spare parts and inventory for engineering systems and equipment.

Qualifications:

- Marine Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications.
- Valid STCW certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Engineer or similar role on cruise ships or large vessels.
- In-depth knowledge of shipboard engineering systems, including propulsion, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Fluent in English;
- Availability to work on rotation aboard the vessel for extended periods.

Work Experience Requirements
