POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for applicants to be trained and work in the capacity of Security Officer. The right caliber, training, attitude, and professionalism will be needed to protect our premises, assets, personnel, and customers -cruise ship days. You will need to be alert, professional and maintain a high level of visibility, which aid in the prevention of illegal activity, vandalism, theft, or damage to property.

  • Able to pass local police requirements to receive and keep a security officer’s license

NATURE AND SCOPE

The position will report directly to the Security Supervisors and PFSO only. As a Security Officer, you must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment; while being able to adjust to changes in assignments, work areas and schedules.

The position requires:

  • The ability to adjust to changing supervisor directions at a moment’s notice, depending upon the needs of Security Management.
  • The ability to regularly work in any weather conditions where you may be routinely exposed to the sun and extreme heat or cold. 
  • The ability to work on various terrains/ sea conditions.
  • Stand or walk constantly (for entire shift).
  • Overall being approachable and being able to interact with customers.
  • Care for security dog by providing food and water, and informing Security Manager of any health concerns or unusual behavior

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a security officer is an asset
  • Must be eligible to obtain a valid security officer’s license, without restrictions.
  • Intermediate to Advanced level English verbal and writing skills, including the proper use of English grammar is required.
  • Intermediate skills in typing and computer software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) are considered assets
  • Must have a clear local background check.
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience is preferred

EDUCATION

  • Minimum High School diploma or foreign equivalent is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the essential functions of this job, all team members are required to stand; walk short distances

  • Work within different temperature changes—indoors to outdoors.

  • Able to complete First Responder course.
