We are seeking an experienced and qualified 2nd Engineer to join our dynamic team onboard one of our cruise ships. As 2nd Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and overseeing the ship’s engine room operations, ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of all machinery and technical systems. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and the engineering team to support the smooth operation of the ship, ensuring passenger safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of all engine room machinery, propulsion systems, and auxiliary systems.
- Supervise and manage the engine room crew, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance of technical systems and machinery.
- Monitor and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs to the Chief Engineer.
- Assist with the planning and execution of preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure all operations comply with international maritime regulations and company policies.
- Keep accurate records of engine room activities, maintenance logs, and spare parts inventory.
- Participate in safety drills and ensure all safety protocols are followed in the engine room.
- Assist with fuel management and oversee bunkering operations when necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to support the overall smooth operation of the vessel.

Requirements:

- Valid 3rd Engineer License (III/1)
- STCW certification including STCW Basic Safety Training and other mandatory STCW courses.
- Experience as a 3rd Engineer / 2nd Engineer, preferably on cruise ships or similar large vessels.
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, including propulsion, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Good understanding of safety and environmental regulations, including MARPOL and SOLAS.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Proficiency in English; other languages are a plus.
- Valid medical certificate for seafarers (ENG1 or equivalent).
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
