BASIC PURPOSE

Prepares daily cash bags for cashiers. Maintains and balances vault cash and daily cashier charge activity. Verifies daily, cashier cash transfers. Maintains electronic files necessary to generate daily reports. Assists the lead cashier and guides the work of outlet cashiers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily tasks:

  • Adhere to the Finance Departments Policy & Procedures
  • Prepares daily cash bags for cashiers; maintains and balances vault cash and daily cashier charge activity.
  • Receives and receipts a variety of payments and other cash and cash-related transactions
  • Cashing out of bartenders and servers
  • Perform data entry for previous ship call Daily Sales, Credit card, and Tips reconciliations.
  • Prepares cash receipts for bank deposit; prepares daily cash reports and balances the cash drawer; reconciles cash, check, and credit card receipts daily, and investigates and resolves any out-of-balance issues.

Additional tasks:

  • Report punctually for all assigned duties.
  • Follow the Finance Department reporting structure.
  • Collaborate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Maintains electronic files necessary to generate daily reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality of Company’s records
  • Leads and guides the work of cashiers; answers questions and resolves problems.
  • file cashiering documents.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits

DIMENSIONS:

  • Cashier will be required to manage and balance an assigned cash float
  • Must provide quality service to approximately 20 cashiers on approximately 4 ship calls per week.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • Under the direction of the Lead Cashier, the Cashier is responsible for the proper execution of monetary transactions according to the company’s procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting the Lead Cashier in enforcing all financial policies and procedures professionally and enthusiastically.
  • Must adjust to changes in schedules, assignments, and deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six months of cashier experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English is required.
  • Intermediate: Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Associates degree
