We have an exciting opportunity for a Vessel Traffic Services Officer! This is a shore side position, based in the UK. 

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring the safety of navigation and the protection of the environment within the limits of the Port of Dover in accordance with the requirements of the Port Marine Safety Code.
  • Monitoring and regulating movements of all vessels within the port and its jurisdiction and advising masters/pilots of passing vessels or other movements during their passage.
  • Allocating berths to vessels entering or manoeuvring within the port in accordance with schedules where pre-planned.
  • Arranging in conjunction with the Duty Harbour Master the allocation of berths for unscheduled arrivals including lay-bys for repairs, de-storing etc.

Successful Candidates require:
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths Grade 4 or above
  • Degree level education, or demonstrable experience in operational management and planning
  • Must be able to achieve a CO103/1 certificate
  • Must have previous experience within VTS or comparable industry or Officer of the Watch as defined by STCW
  • Proficient with MS Office

This position operates on a shift rotation totalling 42 hours with salary paid in GBP.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
