Sous Chef (Season 2025)

Maris Recruitment is seeking Sous ChefS  to join River Ship and Barge companies operating in France and Germany.

The season begins in February and runs through the end of November 2025.

Additionally, our agency offers job opportunities in hotels, restaurants, and resorts across various European countries for the 2024/2025 season.

Your Duties:

** Support the Executive Chef in leading the kitchen team and ensuring high-quality dish preparation.
** Ensure strict compliance with hygiene and quality standards.
** Create and coordinate duty rosters for efficient work organization.
** Manage inventory and conduct accurate stock takes.
** Control food costs and adhere to the budget.
** Train and motivate the team for excellent performance.
** Act as the Executive Chef's deputy in their absence and ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Your Profile:

** Completed vocational training as a chef.
** Several years of experience in the four-star sector, preferably at sea or on rivers.
** Leadership experience and excellent organizational skills.
** Very good German and English language skills.
** PC skills (MS Office) and knowledge in costing and recipes.
** HACCP knowledge and health certificate for the gastronomy sector.
** Team player and cooperative behavior.
** Decisiveness and problem-solving skills.
