The Vessel
REV Ocean is unlike any other ship. It is equipped with some of the most sophisticated facilities onboard for carrying out cutting-edge ocean science, as well as offering charter opportunities designed to integrate exploration, adventure, and science. REV Ocean will operate as a research vessel for 2/3 of the year and be available for charters for 1/3 of the year.

Due to EU country work permit regulations canddiates are required to be EU visa exempt.
The Crew Chef will potentially be working in all galleys and food spaces on board. The role will also assist in ensuring all galley crew follow procedures and protocols as required.
When the ship is operating without a Head Chef, the Crew Chef is responsible for all food and catering services onboard. The Crew Chef will therefore also be responsible for managing and maintaining all galley procedures, safety requirements andgalley specific documents and logbooks. The Crew Chef will also be solely responsible for ordering and management of galley stocks.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Support the Captain in achieving REV objectives (safety, quality and environmental).
- Support the Captain in ensuring the ship’s compliance with company policies and procedures as well as international, state, or local maritime regulations
- Be aware of QHSE in all tasks and operations and report any issues, discrepancies, accidents, or incidents immediately to the bridge
- Be familiar with emergency procedures. Ensure all emergency duties and requirements are understood and followed
- Partake in emergency drills and training as and when required
- Ensure safety procedures and operational procedures are known, and always followed
- Manage galley spaces and supervise food preparation as required ensuring quality, quantity and presentation of all food prepared is to standard
- Assist the HeadChef in the familiarization and training of new crew as required and ensure all galley crew are familiar with procedures and requirements
- Assist the Head Chef in the management of galley operations
- Assist the HeadChef in ordering, provisioning, deliveries, budgeting and management of stocks and storerooms, ensuring quality control measures are always being followed
- Management, upkeep and cleaning of all storerooms and food preparation areas, ensuring equipment and tools are maintained correctly and damages and defects are reported immediately
- Assist the HeadChef in the management of daily routines, providing meal briefings, menu coordination, supervision of work and output schedules
- Ensure the vessel is compliant with USPH (United States Public Health) regulations and requirements
