Job Summary

- To develop outstanding graphics and supporting Oceania Cruises’ communications, marketing and sales initiatives by creating relevant and engaging content for printed material and/or any onboard collateral.
- Accountable for all aspects of conceptual graphic design, layout, production of print communications or adaptation of templates already in use following our branding guidelines.
- The role is considered an extended part of our corporate branding team.
- To ensure timely production and high quality of all onboard printed collateral in accordance with established company branding guidelines.
Responsibility and Authority
- Guest Experience
- Demonstrates a genuine concern for guests’ wellbeing at all times;
- Pro-active approach to problem solving;
- Operational and Administrative
- Coordinate, design and production of all printed collateral, including Currents, as well as all onboard written communication including, but not limited to, letters, flyers, schedules, newspapers and other informational collateral in accordance with company branding guidelines.
- Edit and produce all menus printed onboard, opening hours signs, and preview menus.
- Design and production of all onboard signage following branding guidelines
- Manage the collection and use of information to be included in the daily Currents, including port information, weather, activities, advertisements and service hours
- Coordinate and update all onboard Wine and Bar lists with Head Sommelier (R-Class) or Executive Cellar Master (O-Class)
- Print Mid Cruise Comment Card Shells, and guest information (provided by the Assistant Purser) on voyages longer than seven (7) days
- Coordinate and print any content for crew use, including informational letters, HR or Training Materials and Crew Itinerary
- E-mail PDF copy of daily Currents to Head Office, as well as archive all issues of Currents on BOX
- Work directly with Marketing Specialist on all content that will be used in a digital format (for use on ITV and Oceania Cruises App)
- Maintain accurate inventory of paper and supplies, and order regularly through Hotel Inventory Controller
- Maintain RISO printers and organizes service as needed.
- Perform all other duties as requested by supervisor
- Finance
- Responsible for maintaining adequate printing inventory at all times
- Ensuring minimal waste of supplies
- Training and Development
- Trains new DTPs (desktop publishers)
- Trains, coaches and leads crew to consistently superior levels of performance;
- Communicates standards of performance to employees;
- Ensures adherence to the company defined appraisal system;

- Will participate in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions from ship’s command;

Education and Experience
- Systems
- Fluency in PC environment
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
- Familiar with basic printing (color printer and duplicator)
- Education and Experience
- Certification in Graphic Design
- Previous work experience and portfolio of design work
- Familiarity with the Cruise industry preferred
- Must have a strong understanding of corporate branding and brand guidelines to ensure that design solutions meet brand standards and requirements (style, structure, tone, etc.)
- Strong design, understanding of visual hierarchy on a printed page, typography and photo-retouching skills

- Understanding of the highest level of service;
