Head Waiter

MSC Cruises is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Waiter to join our dynamic team onboard our luxurious cruise ships. As a Head Waiter, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional service standards, and leading a team of waitstaff to provide a memorable dining experience for our guests. You will work closely with the restaurant management team to maintain efficient service, manage guest relations, and support the overall goals of the food and beverage department.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the waitstaff, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Assist in the training and development of the team, providing guidance and support.
• Oversee the setup and preparation of dining areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper organization.
• Ensure all guest orders are handled efficiently, with attention to detail and guest preferences.
• Manage guest feedback, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure overall satisfaction.
• Work alongside the restaurant management team to implement new service strategies and enhance guest experience.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Maintain inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Head Waiter or in a similar supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably onboard cruise ships.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to work on a cruise ship for extended periods.
