PURPOSE OF POSITION

  • This role requires extensive travel and hands-on management of our entertainment production operations across various vessels/projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to train and lead teams to maintain the highest standards of operation.
  • The Fleet Production Manager supervises and manages the VOC & VXP onboard Production Teams including the Stage Managers, Sound Technicians, Lighting Technicians, and General Technicians. You are required to maintain a high standard of onboard technical equipment for all entertainment venues fleet wide.
  • It is your responsibility to create a friendly, guest-oriented service culture to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat business, which in turn, will increase the revenue and profitability of the company.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Traveling Cruise Director and VOC / VXP operations, as well as WSM Entertainment Technical Support Team to coordinate maintenance, fault finding, and repairs for assigned vessels/projects.
  • Collaborate with the WSM Entertainment Technical Support Team to develop and implement a comprehensive training program for all production teams within VOC / VSP, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to maintain high operational standards.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Drydocks and New Builds for Entertainment Technical, aligning with operational changes and needs.
  • Ensure all Fault Reports and Voyage Reports are addressed promptly in coordination with the WSM Entertainment Technical Support Engineer to maintain operations at or above VOC standards.
  • Provide remote assistance to vessels for troubleshooting and problem-solving as needed.
  • Regular ship visits throughout the year to ensure maintenance of vessels is at or above VOC standard. During the ship visits, training of team members will take place and be documented to ensure the growth of the teams.
  • Work closely with onboard teams to ensure timely placement of durables orders, ensuring items are forecasted and delivered per schedule.
  • Oversee the training of new team members and the cross-training of current team members, fostering promotion and growth within the team.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of inventory, scheduling, maintenance, cleaning, storage, distribution, and coordination.
  • Provide competent leadership to all direct reports. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Conducting performance reviews, including discipline as needed, ensuring Maritime Labor Convention (MLC) compliance and onboard training, succession planning, crew communication, and recognition.
  • Ensure you always wear the appropriate and task-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for your duties onboard. Always use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
  • Uphold impeccable grooming standards within your team at all times by complying with Viking\u2019s Image and Uniform Standards; ensure that company property is appropriately secured and protected, especially during rough weather conditions, in order to prevent unnecessary loss or damage.
  • Become knowledgeable and ensure your team are knowledgeable about itinerary-related ports of call, shore excursions and shipboard activities such as events, entertainment, and programs.
  • Positively contribute to achieving/succeeding Entertainment KPI goals (quality & financial) for the Entertainment Department; have full knowledge about safety & security procedures and can operate in line with all Public Health, Environmental and Safety & Security Policies; participate in all training concerning onboard training, safety & security, fire prevention, evacuation exercises as required by the company.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Must have proven experience onboard as Stage Manager, Production Manager or Entertainment Technical Manager, as well as hands on knowledge of all facets of sound, lighting and equipment used.
  • Self-motivated individual with the drive to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Technical system design expertise, with an advanced level of programming, IP protocol, and network topology.
  • Excellent technical and creative skills in both audio and lighting, with extensive knowledge of stage technology from industry leaders such as Digico, Yamaha, WatchOut, and GrandMA Lighting, as well as extensive experience with systems like QSys, QLab, and Dante.
  • Strong administration skills are preferred and must be proficient with PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems.
  • Strong leadership, training, team building, and communication qualities in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to coach subordinates.
  • Customer focus and a strong understanding of the VOC & VXP product.
  • Ability to manage the VOC & VXP onboard production teams, providing technical assistance, training, and maintenance management.
  • Hands-on leader with a diverse and broad-ranging skill set, capable of troubleshooting operational concerns, assisting with front-line maintenance, and providing training to onboard teams for sound, lighting, and video aspects of the VOC & VXP production team.
  • Operate and maintain industry-standard lighting, audio, rigging, and video systems in both indoor and outdoor venues. Provide leadership to technical production teams for entertainment programs, lectures, and activities, as well as evening cabaret shows featuring guest entertainers, lecturers, production vocalists, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a flair for resourceful \"out-of-the-box\" thinking.
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to varying schedules.
  • Must have proven experience as a Stage Manager, Production Manager, or Entertainment Technical Manager, as well as knowledge in all facets of sound, lighting, and equipment used.
  • Fluent in English - must be able to address any kind of information in an adequate manner with excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Must have experience in leading multi-cultural teams; flexible, stress-resistant, committed team player; proactive problem-solving skills are required; team builder with exceptional work ethic, organizational and motivational skills, and coaching abilities.
  • Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards are required, with excellent knowledge of all Public Health and Safety Policies.
