Hostess (Season 2025)

Maris Recruitment Ltd. is currently seeking a Hostess to work onboard a riverboat sailing in France for the 2025 season.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

A Barge Host/Hostess is an organized and dedicated individual who enjoys ensuring guest comfort and anticipating their needs.
This role involves not only attending to guests but also maintaining the boat's interior, preparing tables, and serving meals. A high level of customer service experience is essential.

Job Description:

• Being a Host/Hostess on a barge can be a rewarding experience for someone who enjoys meeting and taking care of people while also managing cleaning tasks.
• Aesthetic sensibility and a sense of pride in one’s work are important, as they will be complemented by beautifully arranged flowers, shining brass, and pristine bathrooms.
• The position encompasses three main areas of responsibility: client care, interior upkeep, and housekeeping.
• The Host/Hostess should always be available for guests.
• Serving meals and preparing aperitifs and drinks before mealtimes, as well as after excursions, are key duties.

Interior housekeeping tasks include:

• Daily cleaning of cabins, bathrooms, and the saloon.
• Setting the dining table for meals.
• Watering plants and flowers.
• Keeping the bar stocked and ensuring ice is available.
• The housekeeping responsibilities require the Host/Hostess to be highly organized.
• They must manage laundry, cleaning, ironing, and maintaining tidy storage.

Requirements:

• Fluency in English.
• Exceptional service skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role.

Benefits:

• Seasonal contracts in France, lasting 7 months from April to October.
• All crew members live onboard in individual cabins, with accommodation and meals provided for the duration of the season.
• Crew work 6 days a week, from midday Sunday to midday Saturday.
