We are currently recruiting for experienced MASTER for cruise vessel PASPALEY PEARL

Embarkation 19/March/2025

Contract 10 weeks on/off

Wages in USD/per month worked on board - to be advised upon interview

the vessel is just 997 GT and the max. engine power is 492 Kw, the vessel is laid up at the moment

Navigational Safety.

The vessel will mainly operates in remote areas - Kimberley (new areas using the Paspaley private bathymetry as well as established areas); East Indonesia including the rich, bio-diverse marine park of Raja Ampat (mainly uncharted), PNG

The vessel will have WASSP bathymetric system onboard, which will enable us to safely scout, navigate and chart these areas, however the complexities of working in these remote areas with the local communities need to be understood and respected.

The shoreside and onboard expedition team of 4 will be highly knowledgeable about these areas, and it will be imperative that the Captain, whilst having overall command, works extremely closely and respectfully with the Expedition Leader and his/her team.

Onboard style of Operation.

It is intention, to operate Paspaley Pearl more aligned with the less regimented, casual, multi-functional crew structure of a Superyacht, than a Cruise Ship. Most of our crew will be trained on multi-functional tasks and not have a strict departmental hierarchical structure, as is common place on a cruise ship. I’m sure you and Jerwin are familiar with the profiles desired

Candidate Profile.

active, agile, good leader and people person. Someone who is confident in their skills, yet has an empathetic, supportive approach to crew management and motivation to do their best. Someone who is flexible, enjoys showing guests and charterers the absolute best they can.

We wish to engender a “family” of officers and crew who want to return time and again to Paspaley Pearl.

Officer and crew uniforms will be more aligned with a Superyacht operation than the formal cruise ship operation.

Crew management is important. There will be fleet of expedition tenders and zodiacs, which should provide opportunity for crew to also experience the destinations, when operations allow.
