Position Summary:

Responsible for writing & proofing copy from conception to completion in various medias such as online, print & newspaper. Will internalize the essence of vital brand specifications for each project and provide highly accurate & quality work by the required deadline. Provide copy direction and support to all company communications teams (Sale, Ops, etc.) Works closely with Sales & Marketing Account Executives and Graphic Designers for project completion.

Career snapshot: 

• Writes and proofs ads, articles, headlines, collateral, direct mail, online copy, special projects, and other related informative and promotional materials in appropriate Royal Caribbean International brand voice for consumer and trade media.
• Drive brand consistency through ongoing development and implementation of brand guidelines for copy.
• Ensure timely release of new creative executions to Mechanical/Release Designer Regular update of copy options for destination messaging for all media.
• Provide copy direction and support to other communication teams (sales, ops).
• Review final material and suggest improvements as needed.
• Partner with AE to liaise with Legal to ensure all copy considers laws governing copy such as registered and trademarked symbols, country of origin, offer communication, etc.
• Partner with any external agencies to drive asset development and final approval.
• Timely review of all Creative work to be presented at weekly approval meetings.
• Partner with Sr. Designer/Creative Design Manager to stick within specified budges for projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum of BA in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing or related field
• 5-7 years writing experience in advertising or related field
• Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation. Excellent copywriting, editing, proofreading, and project coordination skills.
• Software experience in Mac and Windows applications including InDesign, Quark Xpress, Word and PowerPoint.
• Meticulous attention to detail; clear and concise communication, commitment to producing quality product; deadline conscious Familiarity with print & online media
