Privacy Manager
\nJob Summary:
\nViking has an exciting opportunity for a Privacy Manager to join its growing Data Privacy Team in Woodland Hills, CA. Reporting to the Privacy Director within the Internal Audit Department, the Privacy Manager will have the opportunity to help build a global privacy program, work cross-functionally with frequent interaction with Viking employees at different levels across the organization, develop and oversee day-to day privacy operations.
\nThis position requires a J.D. degree with past work experience in legal teams in house or private practice with main focus on privacy matters. The ideal candidate must have a deep knowledge of U.S. and global privacy laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and other U.S. State Privacy Laws currently in force, excellent drafting skills, demonstrated sound judgment and business sense with the ability to translate legal concepts into actionable advice for the business.
\nThis is a hybrid position based in our Woodland Hills, CA office. You will be required to adhere to our hybrid work policy, working from our office Monday, Wednesday and Thursday on a weekly basis.
\nJob Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Privacy Director to provide privacy guidance and support to colleagues across all functions and business units. \n
- Build and maintain a structured framework for tracking, reporting and driving key privacy initiatives. \n
- Manage the day-to day operations of the privacy program as instructed by the Privacy Director. \n
- Supporting Viking projects in U.S. and globally involving data privacy matters. \n
- Monitor the privacy inbox, assessing incoming matters and prepare a plan of action. \n
- Review and manage data subjects privacy requests, report DSRs status and address issues \n
- Maintain and enhance processes and tool usage for addressing data subject requests. \n
- Conduct legal research and analysis as required for the business \n
- Drafting and reviewing privacy notices, data transfer agreements, policies, internal SOPs and procedures, data repositories and privacy templates. \n
- Support the business in conducting data privacy impact assessments. \n
- Assist on development of data mapping project. \n
- Assist in developing privacy training materials and delivering training to employees. \n
- Stay current with data privacy regulations and best practices. \n
- Take initiative to suggest all necessary changes or adjustments to ensure compliance with privacy laws. \n
Job Requirements:

- Completion of law school with a J.D. degree. \n
- Admission to the bar of one jurisdiction in United States is preferred but not required. \n
- 5+ years of legal experience in privacy-related work in law firm or in-house legal department for a mid-large size company. \n
- Strong knowledge of global and U.S. Data Privacy Laws with ability to effectively communicate complex privacy concepts to business teams. \n
- Ability to work independently on a wide range of counseling matters and exercise sound judgement to make reasoned risk-based decisions. \n
- Excellent drafting skills. \n
- Relevant privacy-security certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM) are highly desirable. \n
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. \n
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis of legal issues. \n
- Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects, balance and prioritize short and long term deadlines, and adapt to unexpected business strategies changes. \n
- Experience working with privacy management platforms. \n
- Proactive, collaborative and skilled in building effective working relationships with Viking teams. \n
- Willingness to travel up to 10% if needed. \n

- Salary range $125,000-$140,000 annually determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, individual qualifications and other relevant business considerations. \n
