Fire & Safety Specialist

We have an exclusive opportunity for an experienced Engineer, with passenger vessel experience, to become a key figure within a leading classification society.

Successful candidates will be involved in the development of both new technologies and regulations, within the field of marine classification. You will also have the chance to be a key figure within the engineering team and provide technical expertise to both clients and fellow engineers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Actively taking part in design reviews and plan appraisal of various passenger vessels.
• Assisting in the development of more junior engineers by sharing technical knowledge including passenger vessels.
• Visiting clients to ensure company standards are met and advise them on new technological developments.
• Being a representative for the company at regulatory meetings, and effectively communicating this information to internal and external parties.
• Providing technical assistance to fellow engineers in order to win new business.

Candidates will have:

• A Degree qualification or suitable industry experience in marine engineering.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety engineering and associated systems on board passenger vessels.
• Effective communication and report writing skills.
• Previous experience of plan approval or design reviews of passenger vessels.
