Manager, Celebrity Cruises Beverage Operations

Position Summary:

This position is responsible and accountable for the overall Beverage Operations on the Celebrity Cruises fleet, including achievement of guest satisfaction and revenue targets, budgetary compliance and crew satisfaction, training and development.  This Manager implements strategies and tactics to ensure continuous improvement in Celebrity Cruises beverage business performance, including concept development, promotions, operational efficiencies, systems implementation and quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the functional leader of the companyu00bfs beverage operations, including leading the hiring, selection and training of Beverage Management team members and providing guidance and support to shipboard Beverage Managers and accompanying staff.
  • Monitors the overall effectiveness of the onboard Beverage Operations, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, revenue performance, and financial discipline.  Takes corrective action as required to ensure continuous improvement in departmental performance.
  • Recommends, develops and implements policy and procedures to ensure consistency and continuous improvement in the company's Beverage operations.  Ensures the effective implementation and documentation of all policies and procedures through the company's proprietary systems.
  • Develops and implements managerial and crew training and rewards programs in partnership with company subject matter experts.
  • Monitors program execution and takes corrective action as required.
  • Develops and implements tactics to ensure the organizational capacity of the Beverage department consistently exceeds company requirements.
  • Conducts ongoing quality assurance activities, ensuring that all Beverage operations are being conducted in accordance with the companyu00bfs product, service, sanitation (USPH) and related
  • In partnership with departmental leaders, establishes and implements equipment specifications related to Beverage operations.
  • Project Manages and implements large-scale business improvement initiatives.  Establishes cross functional work teams to ensure the proper development and execution of all project plans.
  • Conducts on-site reviews and takes corrective action to ensure compliance with the companyu00bfs brand quality and operational standards.
  • Provides on-going support and leadership in fleetwide efforts to remain above and beyond compliance with all company and external standards, particularly related to Workplace Safety, Fuel Conservation, Environmental practices, ISM/ISO Code and the U.S.P.H. vessel sanitation program.
  • Maximize all sales opportunities in the business, including quality of food and drink service and availability, using all company point-of-sale as directed
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Directly responsible for the financial performance of beverage department with an operating budget
  • Collaborates with the Director of Food and Beverage operations in the management of the departmental operating budget.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years beverage, or Food and Beverage operations or related management experience. preferably in a high volume, 4 or 5 star resort, cruise line, hotel, restaurant, bar or food service facility.
  • 2-3 years Shipboard management experience highly preferred.
  • 2-4 years multi-site, multi-unit management experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university preferred.
  • To successfully adhere to the responsibilities stated, this individual must be prepared to travel 40% of the time as well as create and manage the travel requirements of the professionals and staff within the group.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to write reports which are clear and concise, outlining solutions and recommendation of actions.
  • Individual must have good business acumen, analytical skills and excellent organization skills.
  • Proven project management experience highly preferred
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills a must.
