JOB TITLE

PHOTO LAB TECHNICIAN

MISSION

The Photo Lab Technician is in charge of cropping, developing, printing, modifying the pictures taken by the onboard Photographers, and of maintaining the equipment in perfect conditions.

RESPONSABILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Follow the directions and instructions given by the Photo Manager;
  • Follow and understand the Company’s environmental policy, rules and regulations, and apply them at all times;
  • Print, crop, enhance and modify pictures;
  • Operate all photographic processing equipment in the photo lab;
  • Clean the equipment and the operation area;
  • Ensure the constant maintenance of the equipment, material and machines;
  • Report to the Photo Manager any faults or damages of the Photo Lab equipment;
  • Liaise with the Photo Manager to ensure constant information flow regarding the quality of pictures taken by the team;
  • In cooperation with the Photo Manager, be in charge of the storage and disposal of hazardous chemical waste.
  • Be able to training Photo staff members to become Photo Lab Technicians;
  • Be in charge of carrying out the inventory of printing paper, chemicals and spare parts.

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates must have at least two-year experience of working with laboratory equipment, supplies and materials typically used in instructional photographic laboratories;
  • Excellent knowledge of English plus good knowledge of one among the following languages: Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese;
  • Sound knowledge of the main post-production softwares;
  • Wide experience with photo chemistry and emulsions;
  • Able to work without direct supervision;
  • Able to work autonomously to meet the requirements and deadlines set by the Photo Manager;
  • Time management;
  • Troubleshooting;
  • Problem solving;
  • Highly organized;
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet strict deadlines;
  • Capable of dealing with high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
